Have you heard? Squash has officially been added to the LA 2028 Olympics!

The sport will compete in two medal events, men's and women's singles. This marks a historic milestone as the sport makes its long-awaited debut on the Olympic stage. The inclusion of squash is a significant breakthrough for a sport that has long sought Olympic recognition. The decision was approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during its 141st session in Mumbai in October 2023. With its confirmation for the 2028 Olympics, squash enters a new era, bringing unprecedented opportunities for growth and visibility.

The inclusion of squash is expected to increase awareness, access, and opportunities for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. This will not only give professional players the chance to compete at the highest level but hopefully, inspire younger generations to take up the sport and pursue their athletic ambitions. While specific details about the squash competition format and qualification criteria for LA28 are yet to be announced, the event is anticipated to feature intense matches among top players from around the world.
