Founder's Story

Hi, I’m Maddie Choi, Founder of Rally for Squash.

I created Rally for Squash with a simple but powerful mission: To make squash accessible, equitable and inclusive to middle and high school students — especially girls.

My journey with squash began unexpectedly in the summer of 2023, when I visited a college campus on the same day as a collegiate squash tournament. I remember standing by the glass courts, completely mesmerized by the speed, strategy, and intensity of the matches. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before.

Inspired, I was eager to give the sport a try. But when I returned home to Dallas, Texas, I quickly realized something surprising — opportunities to play squash were incredibly limited.

On top of that, I learned that squash is overwhelmingly male-dominated, with 84% of players being men and only 16% being women. It became clear to me that barriers — whether geographic, financial, or social — were preventing young people, especially girls, from experiencing this incredible sport.

That’s when I knew something had to change.

That’s why I founded Rally for Squash.

I wanted to create a space where young players could discover squash, develop their skills, and be part of a growing community.

For me, squash is more than just a game: it’s a test of agility, mental toughness, and quick thinking. I love how it pushes you to be faster, sharper, and more strategic with every rally.

But what I love most is the way it brings people together — whether you’re competing on the court or cheering from the sidelines, squash fosters connection, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.  Through Rally for Squash, I hope to share that experience with others.

Whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or looking for a new challenge, I invite you to join us.

Let’s break barriers, grow the game, and build a community where everyone has the opportunity to rally — both on and off the court.
