Qualifying and Competing at the U.S. Junior Open by Neo Ye

I have been playing squash for two and a half years. This year, I competed in the U.S. Open for the second time. It was held in Philadelphia, PA. It was fun to attend this tournament with my sister, Mia Ye.

The first year, I was ranked 101, and since only the top 100 players in the U.S can attend this prestigious tournament, I was not able to attend. Instead, I trained hard and earned my spot the following year. This year, I aged up to the BU13 division and worked hard to reach the top 100 in this category. I competed against many strong and skillful players and I gave 120% of my effort. This experience showed me what I need to improve and motivated me to train even harder so I can come back stronger next year.

I would like to thank my coach, Coach Borei at Houston Squash Club for pushing me, believing in me, and supporting me to always give my best.
